Rule 11: Turn obstacles upside down

My love for technology started very early; growing up in the countryside in East Texas there weren't many options. Chop wood, stack wood, play outside, or go fishing. Usually in that order.

I remember vividly when I was gifted an old computer, and a book detailing the hardware, software, the BIOS, and networking that ran it. By the time I was 14 I had built my first Linux OS from kernel, and burned practically every distro available to CD. I learned a little bit of coding, a little bit of networking, and started down the path to major in Computer Science.

I started my first job at 16 working on the GeekSquad at BestBuy and shortly became their lead tech. Since then, every role I've had has taught me to communicate complex technology in simple terms, and help people find the right solutions for their technology challenges.

Today, I am doing the same thing. Only the customers are larger, the technology more complex, and the impact much greater.
